Lawford Football Club is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered with the Charity Commission (Registered Charity number 1188884). The Club seeks to inspire and develop individuals of all ages to enjoy and play football to the best of their abilities. As a charity we aim to make participation in football available to as many as possible within the local community by keeping our membership fees low. Our fees are amongst the lowest, if not the lowest, in the local area. For instance, the current annual membership fee for youth players is £140 compared to fees at nearby clubs of up to £200.
Despite our low membership fees, the Club is able to provide and maintain fantastic facilities at School Lane, including a purpose-built clubhouse and award-winning pitches. The chart below shows the estimated breakdown of our football-related expenditure in a typical year.
Membership fees cover around 60% of our football-related costs with the difference being made up largely by income from the bar and tea bar, sponsorship, fund-raising, donations, and grants. During the last two seasons our income from the bar and tea bar, however, has been decimated by the impact of the covid-19 restrictions.
The Club's financial position remains strong with reserves set aside for unforeseen events and funding future developments, specifically the provision of a 3G pitch at School Lane. Any surplus generated by the Club is used to support our charitable aims either through reinvestment in current activities or held to fund our longer-term development. Full details of the Club's financial position is made available each year in the Trustees' Report & Accounts.
We depend on the generosity of those who donate their time or provide funds to help the Club achieve its charitable objectives. We are very grateful to all of the individuals, companies and other organisations that support the Club. There are many different ways to support the Club's activities - more information about how you can support the Club can be found here.
